Salmon weekend #2

So we went up fishing to Salmon again this last weekend. It was another beautiful weekend!! Except for of course the one day that Derek's parents decided to drive up to go fishing with us. It is a 4 hour drive if you are driving hard, not pulling a trailer. So they came up Saturday morning, and only got to fish for like 3 hours! It was sooooo cold that day and the wind was blowing like crazy. So, here is a picture of them standing by the fire after we got done fishing. And I know it doesn't look cold, but it was!
Derek's mom Gail fishing in the freezing weather!!

One of the many fish Derek caught over the weekend. He caught 7 on Thursday, 5 on Friday and none the rest of the weekend. Awesome fishing!!

Here is Derek helping Evan net a fish a nice guy by us caught. Evan thought that was pretty cool!

And here is Evan reeling in a fish that Derek caught. He thought that was pretty fun!

Evan again reeling in a different fish. I think this was a fish the guy next to us caught and let him reel in.

Skylar and Evan playing in the sand on the beach we were fishing on . I like that fishing spot for that reason.

Derek, my dad, and Evan fishing. Evan was the smart one!!

Skylar playing in the sand.

We had an awesome weekend and are very grateful that we can go a couple times a year. I am very grateful for Derek who works hard so we can play hard!! I love you Derek!! Thanks for everything!

Salmon weekend #1

So every March and October we go camping up to Salmon and go Steelhead fishing. I love it!! I love the scenery, the weather, the company, everything!! The weather up there is gorgous compared to home. On Saturday it was in the low 60's. Long sleeved shirts and no coats! Awesome! So here is a picture of Skylar and Evan in Izzie's dog house. The kids loved playing in there, and most of the time Izzie was in there with them! While we were up there it was Skylar's birthday, and my parents bought her this wagon. I love it! I have wanted one for my kids for a long time. So this was really convienient so we could go on walks. The other 2 kids are my friends Daphne's kids. Wyatt and Peyton. This wagon load was pretty heavy though. Especially when we would have to go up hills!

The kids playing in the wagon again!

Grandpa and Evan fishing! I love this picture! Funny thing is Evan only had on a bobber and a sinker on his line. It was perfect! He thought he was fishing, and we didn't have to watch him real close incase he got a bite. We may have to put a worm on his hook this next weekend though. He had a hard time with everyone else catching fish and he didn't!

Derek and his first fish of the weekend. All in all he caught 5, had to put one back because it was a wild and not a hatchery fish. This is the only picture we took. I wasn't with him when he caught his other 4 and I had the camera!!!
I am sooo ready to head back up to Salmon this weekend!!! Wish us luck!

Skylar's 2nd Birthday!!!

Busy busy weekend! We went to Salmon for the weekend, got home Sunday at 4 and had Skylar's birthday party at 7. Which isn't so bad, but I had to make her cake for her. So if it doesn't look good.......that's why. I was in a hurry! Evan wasn't feeling too good on Sunday, so he is being kindof goofy in this picture. I wanted to do a Minnie Mouse theme, but it is hard to find anything birthday stuff that has minnie on it! Everything is Tinkerbell and Princess stuff. So I found these cheesy Mickey ears. They look kinda dorky, but oh well!

Here is a picture of her cake. It didn't quiet turn out like the cake in my head, but it worked. The pans I bought were pretty thick, so I assumed the cakes would be that thick. But they weren't. I guess I didn't put enough batter into them. So the layers were small, but overall I think it turned out pretty cute.

Skylar and Grandma before her party started!
Happy Birthday baby girl!!! She is at the point where she is putting sentences together. It is way cute to hear her talk. She thinks she is as big as her brother (which she almost is) but there is a big difference in ability to do stuff. She sure tries to do everything he does though. She loves to take off her clothes. Don't ask me why! She is always walking around with no pants on. Or she goes through her dresser and pulls out all her pants/shorts and tries to put them all on. I have had friends who have girls who are obsessed with clothes and shoes and necklas's and makeup, but I am suprised at how it is pretty much in little girl's DNA to like that stuff! She always is pulling my shoes out of the closet, putting on makeup when mommy does, she now has to pick out what she wears (funny but frustrating). She puts a smile on my face every day and she definantly is my little princess!!!
