My Birthday Suprises!

So I haven't posted anything for a while, sorry!! And there is no pictures this time...sorry again!! So my birthday was last Saturday and it was an awesome day. Derek had the kids go to my parent's house for the night and he had my whole birthday planned and it was all a total suprise to me. We started out by having dinner reservations at The Cellar which was pretty good, but too spendy! After dinner we had reservations at Destination's Inn which is a themed suit hotel. It was a blast. We stayed in the "Rome" room and it was beautiful. There was big pillars all over the room, fountains, a big tub with lights in it, and a steam shower (which Derek loved and I hated). When we got there they had a bottle of Sparkling Apple Cider on ice for us and cheesecake in the fridge. It was way fun. As most of you know, the weather here on Saturday was nice, so when we woke up on Sunday I had flip flops a short sleeved shirt on and no jacket, but when we looked out the window it was a BLIZZARD! There was 2 inches of snow on our truck. Totally suprised with the change in weather. When we went to pick up the kids, we stayed out to my parent's house and played games for a while. Which is always fun. We met some friends and family up at Heise Pizza for dinner which was way yummy. Derek suprised me there with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. I looove ice cream cakes!! I had such an awesome birthday with alot of supises. Thank you Derek for everything. I love you!!

Bath Time!!

So we are re-doing out upstairs bathroom, and until it is finished, the kids get to take a bath in the kitchen sink....FUN!!! They don't mind it. They actually think it is fun, but I can't wait for the bathroom to be done. If anything, I got some cute pictures out of it!! I'll post again and show pictures of them in the new bathroom. These are some stinkin cute pictures:)

Spring Fever

So we went to Salmon the last two weekends camping. For the most part it was beautiful weather. The worst part was last week trying to drive home during a snow storm. It usually takes about 4 hours to drive, not pulling a trailer, but it took us 7 1/2 hours. My poor kids..... That's all I can say about that. Anyways, up camping we had Evan's bike tied to Dakota's bike so that she could pull him around and he could get up the hill. It was HILARIOUS!!! They finally got to the point that they could go without Evan crashing. Poor kid!! He had a blast though. I looove camping!!

Skylar's 1st Birthday

So my baby girl turned one.... :( It makes me kindof sad how fast time goes. But the day was pretty good. We had two cakes (which were both super cute). One had tinkerbell on it, and then there was a small cake to match just for her. By the end of the night, she was covered in Hot Pink frosting. It was too cute. We ended up doing two different parties. It is kindof hard to have birthdays when the weather outside isn't good. So one night we did a party up at Heise Pizza and invited all the friends and their kids. Then on the night of her birthday, we did a Potato Bar dinner and invited all the family. It was fun getting together and Skylar got alot of cute cloths and some fun toys. Thanks to all who came. I LOVE YOU SKYLAR!!!! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

Becoming Child-like

It is crazy how much a little boy makes you think about things. Somewhere in the scriptures it talks about become like a child. (I don't know scriptures very well, but you get the idea). I never really understood what it fully meant until I became a mom. For instance, the other day I was driving out to my parent's house and Evan made the comment "WOW"!! I asked him what he was talking about and he said "Trees are pretty". Which they were. It was one of those days when the trees were all frosted and it looks like a winter wonderland. I have always thought it was pretty, but when he said that, I looked at it differently. I looked at it through his eyes. How it would look seeing that for the first time. It totally changes the way you look at things. Now all the time, I watch my kids play and try to see what they are seeing, especially when they are seeing or doing something for the first time. It totally makes you appreciate EVERYTHING. I think that is the whole meaning of that scripture. Become like a child and appreciate everything, enjoy the beauty around us, take time to look at things and appreciate all that Heavenly Father has given us.... I appreciate more, and I am always in amazement since I have started doing this. Give it a try.....

About the Cox Family

So I am just getting started with this blog stuff. I hope I can make my blog as cute as the ones I have looked at.....Hopefully. Anyways, I met Derek about 4 1/2 years ago and got married after 9 months of dating. Our 4 year anniversary is coming up in March and I can't believe how fast the time has flown. We have had alot of fun, and brought two precious kids into our family in the last 4 years. Derek's beautiful daughter, Dakota, is 13 and loves to play soccer. She lives in Rexburg with her mom and Step dad and goes to school in Idaho falls. Evan is 2 1/2 and is my favorite little boy. He is such a sweet heart and is one of my best friends. Skylar is turning one on March 6th, and it makes me sad. I can't believe how fast this last year has gone. She is mommy's little Princess and I love her to death. Both of my kids make my day. I can't believe how funny little kids can be. They are the funniest people I know. We live in Rigby and Derek works out to the Site. I am thankful for his job, which allows me to stay home with my kids. I am working on starting my own business, I will let you know about it more when I get it officially going. Hopefully soon. Anyways, It is good to look at everyone's blog and see what they are up to. I am glad things are going good for all my friends. Love you all
